Santa on Wheels —Santa Sobre Ruedas

On December 17, the Cobb Sheriff’s Foundation, Inc., supported by the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office leadership and staff, held the Inaugural Santa on Wheels—Santa Sobre Ruedas event. A low-speed caravan of 17 vehicles traveled through 5 mobile home communities and distributed over 2000 toys to children up to 12 years of age.

With coordination from the residence managers and 15 community volunteers, the boys and girls were grouped by age to receive a toy and take a picture with Santa Claus. Chief Deputy Rhonda Anderson, in her tailored Christmas attire, was also a highlight of the event as she passed out toys and talked with the children.

Thanks to Carlos Garcia, Latino Liaison for the Cobb Sheriff’s Office, the event received generous sponsorship from the business community.

“Santa on Wheels is another way to show support for families who need a helping hand during the holiday season and also deliver a Christmas for the Children to remember,” said Sheriff Craig Owens.
